December 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Friends of Jupiter Beach has named Lynne Gibbons managing director of the operations for the 11-year-old grassroots, not-for-profit group that sponsors monthly beach clean ups for 3 1/2 miles of Jupiter's beaches, and supplies more than 250,000 "doggy bags" annually - at no cost to the Town of Jupiter - in boxes at beach crossovers.  This organization of 5,900 families also provides a volunteer beach patrol that actively promotes responsible behavior on the beach, and serves as official Palm Beach County Adopt-a-Road organization for the Jupiter Beach stretch of A1A.

The volunteer beach clean ups are held the first Saturday of every month from 8-10 AM in the Anita Lankler Pavilion at Ocean Cay Park, east of US Highway 1 and Marcinski Road.  The December 3 clean up is sponsored by Dr. Stephan at the Juno Beach Animal Hospital, Brooklyn Bagels, Dunkin' Donuts, Palm Beach Paw Spa, The Haute Hound and Dade Paper Company.
